Home Ministry launches a portal for NGOs

Ministry of Home Affairs has introduced a portal to view all registered non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from one platform. The portal was launched by Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla.

Addressing the ceremony, Home Minister Imran Abdulla stated it is an aim of the administration to ease the operations of NGOs by introducing latest technologies and facilities. Minister Imran noted the portal will ease the access to all NGOs, adding technical support can also be provided when needed by NGOs through the platform.

The aim of such a portal is to enable access to works of all NGOs under one platform, according to the home ministry. In this regard, registration of NGOs, submitting reports and other administrative tasks can be done within the portal. Moreover, the ministry stated the portal can view full information of all NGOs registered in Maldives, in addition to upcoming events of the NGOs.

Home ministry has now opened opportunity for NGOs to register in the portal.

It is a pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to establish an online portal for NGOs within the first 100-working days of the administration.
