Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has captured 4 foreign fishing boats from the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Maldives.
MNDF said out of the four boats, two boats were found 103 nautical miles out of Kelaa in Haa Alifu Atoll. Further, MNDF revealed the other two boats were found while the coast guard was escorting the boats initially captured to Kulhudhuffushi.
Efforts are underway to escort the captured vessels to Kulhudhuffushi. The boats were reportedly from Sri Lanka, according to MNDF.
