Elections Commission seeks party to print ballot papers

Elections Commission has sought a party to print the ballot papers for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Interested parties must submit tenders before March 10, according to Elections Commission.

The electoral body revealed a programme to provide information for interested parties will be held at the main office of the commission on March 4.

Several concerns were raised regarding the printing procedure of voting papers for the last presidential election, with a case also filed at the Supreme Court. The issues include handing over printing to a certain party and lack of proper mechanisms to monitor security features of ballot papers.

Elections Commission has decided to use the same security features and security seal in the ballot papers for the parliamentary elections to be held on April 6.
