Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has revealed plans to enhance the atoll ferry services in efforts to provide better transportation services to people in the islands.
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM News, Minister of State Ahmed Adil noted the benefits of the atoll ferry services for the people. However, he mentioned the services must be further improved, adding there are issues in the system which needs to be addressed.
The state minister said one main complaint received by the ministry is the lack of direct ferries to the capital of the atolls. Noting there are obstacles in regard to solving the issue, he stated one main problem noticed is the decreased amount of people travelling to the atoll capital to attain services.
