Norway stress importance of small countries to work together while addressing common challenges

Norway stressed the importance of small countries to work together while addressing common challenges, such as protection of the environment, sustainable use of resources, climate change adaptation, both bilaterally and at various multilateral fora. The statement was made during a courtesy call by Norwegian State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marianne Hagen on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs both the foreign minister and the state secretary held discussions on sustainable blue economy, foreign policy and global issues of importance to both countries.

State Secretary Hagen also stressed the importance of small countries to work together, especially in addressing common challenges,

Minister Shahid expressed appreciation for Norway’s active engagement and support to Maldives and conveyed the hope for strengthened ties between Norway and Maldives.
