President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed the expenditure of state can be reduced by 20 to 30 percent if the procurement procedure of assets is conducted integrally.
Addressing the campaign gathering held at Velidhoo in Noonu atoll organised by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), President Solih assured the administration do not wish to burden the citizens by introducing more taxes.
However, the president said in contrast, the administration will ensure the integrity of the offices and governing bodies mandated to fulfil the pledges of the government. Noting senior figures at government offices are not loyal in specifying the expenditure of their respective offices, the president stated if it is not stopped, the country will not experience development.
Moreover, President Solih revealed some development projects to be launched in the island.
