Acting Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ali Waheed has highlighted the role of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in solving the issues faced in the society. The acting youth minister made the remarks at the function held to conclude Havali Fair held to empower NGOs in Maldives.
As part of the concluding function, Minister Ali Waheed visited stalls and met with the NGOs. During the visits, the minister inquired information about separate NGOs in the country and their role in the community. The minister further assured all suggestions will be carried to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He encouraged the NGOs to continue with their efforts.
Havali Fair organised by Ministry of Home Affairs was aimed to establish a network within local NGOs.
