DNR requests to renew national identity cards before end of the month

Department of National Registration (DNR) has requested to renew national identity cards before end of the month.

DNR revealed the number of submissions to renew identity cards are increasing, as the parliamentary elections is nearing. In this regard, DNR said if submissions increase suddenly, several challenges will be faced in completing the cards before election day, adding for it is best to renew the cards, if necessary, before the end of the month.

Moreover, DNR also revealed many individuals have not collected identity cards that have been completed.

Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has scheduled to hold the parliamentary elections on April 6.
