Home Minister appreciates efforts of police, despite challenges faced

Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has appreciated the efforts of Maldives Police Service in serving the country, despite all the challenges faced by the institution. The home minister made the remarks at the ceremony held to mark the 86th anniversary of Maldives Police Service.

Addressing the ceremony, Home Minister Imran expressed the services of the police force are loaded with several legal responsibilities and tasks which are challenging. In this regard, the minister lauded the brave efforts of the police in serving the purpose of the institution.

Furthermore, the home minister assured the police service will be provided closely without any discrimination to all parts of the country. Acknowledging the courage of every individual serviceman, the home minister appealed to continue serving the nation. In this regard, he called to prioritise the rights of people rather than one's own.

Noting police force is the answer and solution to every uneasy situation with causes chaos, Minister Imran expressed service can only be delivered at its best with the cooperation of public. He highlighted the efforts of policemen should be appreciated by the public.

Meanwhile, speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed said reforming the structure of the police service is underway, adding importance is given to public suggestions.
