President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed the women participation in the political arena must increase citing the awareness and educational scope of Maldivians.
Addressing the graduation ceremony of Maldives National University (MNU) held in Dharubaaruge convention centre, President Solih spoke on the importance of increasing women in stakeholder positions. Further, the president said women participation must be increased to develop the country inclusive of all sectors.
Noting almost 78.2 percent of graduates were women, the president encouraged women to excel in other professional areas. In this regard, he said women should have increased leadership opportunities both in public administration as well as politics.
Moreover, President Solih stated although there are educated people, people are not willing work to excel their qualities. He also acknowledged the critical role played by the university in empowering women and the positive contribution to the sector made by women.
