President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurates the Orchestra Band and Digital Library of Iskandar School.
President Solih inaugurated band and library at the ceremony held to mark the 58th anniversary of Iskandar School. After the inauguration, he toured the e-library and signed the visitors’ book.
The e-library developed in Iskandar School is a donation from a private person. The library was developed at a cost of USD 195,000. The library can be accessed by all the students, according to the management of Iskandar School. The library is developed to cater 32 students at once and consists of books of several genres.
Furthermore, President Solih inaugurated the school exhibition named Saving Out Beloved Planet.
At the ceremony, the president presented the plaque of appreciation to those employees who served the School for more than 30 years.
At the ceremony, the school handed over environmental friendly bottles to the students, as part of the awareness programmes to encourage environmental protection. The bottle distribution was inaugurated by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali.
Iskandar School had its beginning in 1961 as Hameediya Montessori School, which prepared students for primary grades, who then went on to Majeediyya School and Aminiya School. Later the name was changed to Naseeriyya Montessori School in 1970 and later began functioning as Iskandar School in 1980.
