Chinese Ambassador to Maldives Zhang Lizhong has revealed more collaborations with the Maldivian government with regard to several developmental projects.
Sharing information about the Second Belt and Road Forum conducted last year, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong said the discussions with the current administration have been fruitful and optimistic. In this regard, the ambassador reiterated its stance that China will remain a trusted partner in developmental projects such as installing desalination plants, constructing housing units, and establishing sewerage systems.
China is already conducting three major projects in the country while 4 more projects are collaborations between the Chinese and Maldivian governments. The projects include maintenance work on the Sina-Male' Bridge, development of the social housing units and the expansion of Velana International Airport (VIA).
