Minister of Communication, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamal has stated the first technology park established in Maldives would be an important institution to further boost the speed of development in the country.
Speaking to PSM News during a visit to Fuvahmulah City, the communication minister said the technology park to be established in the city would provide high security for interested foreign parties and companies. In this regard, the minister the park would be developed similar to the concept of the Silicon Valley, and will include call centres and other required facilities. He revealed an information technology centre, in collaboration with National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT), would be developed as part of the first phase of the project.
Establishing a technology park in Fuvahmulah City is an electoral pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
