President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has declared National Centre For The Holy Quran as the official English name for the national Quran centre of Maldives.
The centre is entrusted with the task of educating the population of this nation with Quranic knowledge and sciences. Currently, more than 2500 students are studying in the centre and its affiliated centres. The centre is run under the auspices of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
The National Centre For The Holy Quran was opened on December 22, 2000.
