Fenaka Corporation Limited has stated technical issues are faced by generators across Maldives, as the country is experiencing excessive heat waves, requiring more use of electricity which results in overloading of generators.
Speaking to PSM News, Media Official of Fenaka Ahmed Hilmy said complaints are filed at the corporation regarding electricity failures from various parts of the country. He said while the weather is hot these days, the use of electricity has increased, adding while Ramadan is a month which households use many electrical appliances, the electricity load increases compared to other months.
Highlighting most islands do not have the capacity to provide acceptable electricity services, the media official noted Fenaka corporation is continuously working to solve the issues faced by providing more generators.
Following electricity cut-offs in peak hours, Fenaka and State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) have advised to refrain from wasting energy and to be more cautious in the use of electricity.
