Ministry of Islamic Affairs has distributed USD 323.75 as Zakat-ul-Fitr to each recipient.
Over USD 362,597 was received as Zakat-ul-Fitr this year which is an increase of over USD 84,174 compared to last year, according to statistics of Islamic ministry. In 2018, Islamic ministry received USD 271,947 as Zakat-ul-Fitr. The Islamic ministry began distributing Zakat-ul-Fitr on 29 Ramadan 1440.
The statistics of Islamic ministry shows over 1,000 individuals have registered as poor in Male’ region. Zakat-ul-Fitr was only distributed to individuals registered as poor. However, the ministry did not publish the list. Last year, over 1,600 individuals were registered as poor.
