Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has held discussions with Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi to promote Maldives as a tourism destination.
During the meeting, the minister and Vivek Oberoi discussed the potential for promoting Maldives as a top destination in India. During the meeting, Vivel Oberoi acknowledged the natural beauty of Maldives along with the hospitality.
So far this year, many Bollywood stars have visited Maldives, including Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.
India is a growing market of the tourism industry. Over 48,000 tourists visited from India by April which is an increase of 95 percent compared to same period of last year, according to statistics.
