Ooredoo Maldives has enabled eSIM services in the Maldives. The eSIM services was launched in the Maldives by the Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives Najib Khan.
Ooredoo eSIM connects customers to the next generation of SIMs and is available for prepaid, postpaid and tourist plan customers with a compatible phone, including iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Google Pixel 3, according to Ooredoo Maldives.
Noting the electronic SIM card replaces the currently available plastic SIM card on smartphones, with a virtually embedded equivalent, Ooredoo revealed the digital eSIM will enable customers to integrate up to nine different numbers on a single device, allowing seamless switching between personal and business numbers.
