Maldives host Partnership Forum 2019

The Maldives Partnership Forum 2019 has commenced at Kurumba Maldives. The forum was inaugurated by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will continue from June 17 to 18.

The forum on Investing in a resilient and sustainable Maldives is intended as a platform for all current and prospective development partners. The forum will discuss ways to collaborate with Maldives to take its development agenda forward and to fulfil the vision of the administration. Jointly led by the President's Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance, Maldives will be represented at the highest level.

Vice President Faisal Naseem and several cabinet ministers will be present for the event, which will consist of information sessions on the key priority areas of the administration and shine a light on potential new avenues for partnership.

Furthermore, the sessions will provide an overview of the achievements and future policy initiatives with regard to improving the macroeconomic and fiscal performance of Maldives; investing in a blue economy; ensuring social outcomes; enhancing good governance, justice and the rule of law; and partnering for development.

The forum is one of the largest multilateral gatherings to be held in Maldives in over a decade, signalling the keenness of the administration, and interest from partners to positively engage in issues of mutual concern under the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
