Vice President Faisal Naseem has visited Addu City and observes the football match played between Maldives and Bhutan in the Under 15 UEFA Assist International Tournament. The Under 15 UEFA Assist International Tournament is held as part of the vision by the administration to broaden the scope of sports development in the country.
The tournament is organised by the Maldives Football Association (FAM) in collaboration with Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The vice president cheered the Maldivian football team in the match. Bhutan won the match 2-1.
This is the first collaboration between the Maldives and a European organisation to hold an international football tournament in the country. In addition to Bhutan, Latvia and Saudi Arabia are the other countries participating in the tournament.
