Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions pertinent to road safety with several senior officials representing a range of stake-holding institutions.
The officials present at the meeting held at the President's Office included senior representatives from Male' City Council, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and Maldives Police Service. The officials briefed the Vice President Naseem on the measures they are presently undertaking to enhance road safety and reiterated the major obstacles they continue to confront while fulfilling this important responsibility to the Maldivian public.
The vice president urged all line ministries and relevant institutions to enquire into any causes of delay preventing the planned road safety measures implemented by the administration. Further, he discussed measures to expeditiously resolve such obstacles and stated the administration would provide all the assistance required to the roads are safe and peaceful.
