10 more mosques to be air-conditioned using renewable energy

President's Office has permitted installation of air-conditioning in 10 mosques using renewable energy.

The President's Office gave permission to install air-conditions in 10 mosques when the ministry proposed 25 mosques, according to Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

The ministry detailed USD 971,370 are allocated from the state budget to install air-conditions in 10 mosques. Islamic ministry said additional mosques will also be air conditioned.

Moreover, Islamic ministry also revealed installing mosques in 9 islands are in a bidding process. While over 600 mosques are constructed in the country, only 218 mosques have been air conditioned.

Air-conditioning mosques with renewable energy is included in the first 100-day pledge policy of the administration, while Islamic Ministry aims to complete the pledge by 2021.
