Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resource and Agriculture Zaha Waheed has revealed efforts are underway to enhance the capacity of fish processing factories in Felivaru and Kooddoo.
Answering questions posed by the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Fisheries Minister Zaha said administration is seeking finances to upgrade the fish factories in Felivaru and Kooddoo. The minister expressed hope that relevant upgrading projects will commence soon.
Furthermore, the fisheries minister revealed the administration aims to minimise the export of frozen fish and promote export of value added fish products, adding necessary arrangements are made to achieve the targets.
