Potable Water Security Plan Validation Workshop held in Maldives

Ministry of Environment has held a Potable Water Security Plan Validation Workshop in an attempt to introduce and validate the National Water Security Plan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the workshop, Minister of State for Environment Ahmed Mujuthaba said providing safe and clean water to all the islands in the country is challenge. Noting the administration is developing facilities to provide safe and clean water to the citizens, he expressed confidence the facilities provide water after several tests in accordance with the international standards.

National Water Security Plan helps the authorities to identify the islands lacking proper drinking water. The environment ministry revealed the workshop would ensure to validate the National Water Security Plan, in collaboration with the relevant authorities, including state-owned utility companies and United Nations.
