Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced ferry services in two atolls. MTCC began its Rashu Link ferry services in Meemu Atoll and Dhaalu Atoll, as part of the efforts to connect the islands in zone 4.
Similar to other atoll ferry services, three weekly ferries will be operated in the atolls. Furthermore, MTCC added ferry services will commence in Faafu Atoll this week.
MTCC revealed ferry trips in Meemu and Dhaalu will cost USD 1.30 and the ferries will have the capacity to carry 100 passengers. The company has published the ferry schedules on its website.
Initially, the services were provided by a private company named Vermillion.
MTCC provides ferry services in 6 zones.
