Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has urgently brought former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for medical treatment.
Adeeb was brought to Male' City when he fainted and collapsed in the cell he was kept in Dhoonidhoo detention facility. It is believed he fell unconscious and sustained injuries during the fall.
Adeeb is held in custody over a Supreme Court order to detain him until end of the trial on the Maabinhura embezzlement case.
