Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has maintained the cases of negligence to children under state care highlighted in the Anti-Torture Report published by Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) happened during the previous administration.
In a tweet, gender ministry revealed comments circulated regarding negligence to 22 children under state care are false and asked to refrain from spreading false information. The gender ministry upheld the cases took place during the previous administration.
The HRCM report highlighted cases from July 2018 to June 2019.
