Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with the members of Maafushi Island Council.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office, the council members discussed concerns raised by the residents of Maafushi, as well as various development projects the council members have proposed for the benefit of their constituents.
The council members shed light on the most pertinent and urgent needs faced by residents of Maafushi, including the need to upgrade health services, harbour expansion, infrastructural development needed for the island school and the issues with waste disposal. In addition, they discussed ways to ensure the continuation of existing course programmes as well as starting new short-term training programmes.
Vice President Naseem stated that necessary action will be taken after discussing with relevant ministries to address the specific issues and concerns raised by members of the Maafushi Island Council. He also updated councillors with the latest information on some of the major projects proposed for the development of the island.
