Minister of Communications, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamal has called to use innovative technology and increase the contribution of private parties in an effort to improve health service delivery.
Speaking at Maldives Brain Spine Conference held in Paradise Island Resort, Minister Maleeh highlighted the need for using modern innovative technology, such as 5G, in health service delivery to provide customers and patients with a more convenient and a quality service.
Addressing the event, Managing Director of ADK Hospital Ahmed Afal stated Maldives have achieved a remarkable progress in neurosurgery, highlighting ADK alone conducted 938 neurosurgical operations so far. He expected the conference would bring innovative and progressive changes.
The purpose of the conference is increasing knowledge amongst the neurosurgical professionals. It will also be a platform to share researches, advanced treatments, recent innovations along with the experiences of pioneers in the field.
During the conference, ADK launched the first ever scientific journal in Maldives. ADK also briefed the participants on the neurosurgical app it is currently developing.
Doctors, medical students from Malaysia, Afghanistan, Australia and the US include the 300 participants attending the conference. Meanwhile, 33 speakers from across the globe will present 53 papers in the conference running from September 17-19.
