Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure has contracted two companies to conduct harbour development projects in three islands.
In this regard, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was contracted to construct harbours in Miladhoo, Noonu Atoll and Maavah, Laamu Atoll. The agreements were signed by the Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and COO of MTCC Shahid Hussain Moosa.
MTCC will construct the harbour in Miladhoo at a cost of USD 2.734 million and the harbour in Maavah at a cost of USD 1.773 million within a period of 330 days.
Meanwhile, SAS E Construction Private Limited was contracted to construct the outer seawall of the harbour in Maamendhoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll at a cost of USD 2.019 million. The project must be completed within a period of 450 days.
