Three companies contracted 11 water and sewerage projects

Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure has contracted water and sewerage related projects in 11 islands to 3 companies. The companies were contracted to complete the projects in a period of two years at a total cost of USD 17.4 million.

Islands to develop water and sewerage include:

  • Gulhi in Kaafu Atoll (USD1.7 million)
  • Magoodhoo in Faafu Atoll (USD 2 million)
  • Inguraidhoo in Raa Atoll (USD 2.2 million)
  • Narudhoo in Shaviyani Atoll (USD 1.7 million)
  • Maaungoodhoo in Shaviyani Atoll (USD 1.6 million)
  • Lhohi in Noonu Atoll (USD 1.6 million)
  • Filladhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll (USD 1.8 million)
  • Finey in Haa Dhaalu Atoll (USD 1.4 million)

Islands to develop clean water include:

  • Naivaadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll (USD 1 million)
  • Holhudhoo in Noonu Atoll (USD 1 million)
  • Maavah in Laamu Atoll (USD 1.4 million)

The work includes development of water and sewerage networks, development of pump stations, installation of reverse osmosis plants and storage tanks, developing sea outflow systems and administrative offices in addition to connecting pipelines to households.

Altech Maldives Private Limited was awarded the projects run in Gulhi, Inguraidhoo and Maavah while Static Company Private Limited was award the projects in Narudhoo, Maaungoodhoo, Lhohi and Holhudhoo. The projects in Filladhoo, Finey and Naivaadhoo was awarded to SAS E Construction Private Limited.
