Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracted Escon Builders Private Limited to construct mosques in two islands.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Ahmed Zahir signed the agreements with Escon Builders to construct mosques in Vaadhoo, Raa Atoll and Kalaidhoo, Laamu Atoll.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Zahir explained the mosques are constructed in accordance to a list compiled by the ministry. The minister revealed the agreements for the projects are signed in accordance with the list. He added constructing mosques is a priority of the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The mosque is Vaadhoo costs over USD 260,000 and will be completed within 150 days, while the mosque in Kalaidhoo costs over USD 325,000 and will be completed within 270 days, according to the ministry.
