Japan grant USD 48,000 to provide minibus service for children in Fiyavathi

The Government of Japan has granted USD 48,000 to provide minibus service for children in state care.

The agreement to provide the grant aid was signed by Ambassador of Japan to Maldives Kieko Yanai and Zeena Gaaim, the CEO of Fiyavathi, a state childcare facility in Hulhumale’.

Speaking to the media following the signing of the agreement, Zeena highlighted the minibus service will be useful in carrying the children to school, hospital, therapy and other activities. She noted the state is caring for 112 children at Fiyavathi, out of which about 80 children attend school.

Speaking at the function, Ambassador Yanai expressed hope the grant aid will provide ease for the children at Fiyavathi, adding minibus service will be provided within a year as part of the project.
