Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Ahmed Zahir Ali has attended the 8th World Zakat Forum.
The forum was held at Bandung, Indonesia under the theme ''Optimising Global Zakat Role through Digital Technology'' from November 5-7. The sessions of the forum focused on strengthening the role of the World Zakat Forum in the digital era, digital zakat management, the contemporary Fatwa and Fiqh of digital Zakat and policy, regulation and the role of government in Zakat digitalisation.
The World Zakat Forum is an event that is held every year where Zakat management organisations from all over the world are present to discuss the development of Zakat management for the achievement of world welfare goals. The forum was attended by 300 officials from 28 countries.
While 25 officials addressed the forum, Islamic Minister Zahir was among them.
