Parliamentary Committee on Budget has passed to include an additional USD 23.770 million to the USD 2.435 billion State Budget for 2020 proposed by the government.
With the additional amount, the State Budget for 2020 will increase to USD 2.455 billion. The additional amount would be allocated for Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) and administrative costs of government offices. The additional amount would be provided by selling treasury bills, according to the committee.
The Government of Maldives has decided to sell a samurai bond worth USD 300 million to Japan. The government has also decided to sell treasury bills worth USD 563 million.
