State revenue in November 33.5% higher than projected amount

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed state revenue in November 2019 exceeded by 33.5% compared to the projected amount.

MIRA received a revenue of over USD 74 million in November which is an increase of 17.7% compared to the same period last year. MIRA attributed the increment in revenue to the increment in Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST), Airport Service Charge and Green Tax collection, along with the receipt of payments towards Lease Period Extension Fee.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) contributed the highest amount of revenue with 56.6% of the total revenue.
