Ministry of Education has revealed the pilot project of digitalising text books will be launched in 40 schools this year.
In this regard, the education ministry has identified the schools to launch the pilot programme. However, the ministry did not reveal the schools the programme will be held.
The education ministry has decided to launch the project in 10 schools from each key stage from 1-4. The key stage 1 consists of grades 1,2 and 3, while key stage 2 consists of grades 4,5 and 6. Key stage 3 is secondary education starting from grade 7 and 8 with key stage 4 being grades 9 and 10.
Text books are to be digitalised to promote better use of the tablets given to students, according to the ministry. Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali previously revealed digitalising text books of some grades have been completed in an attempt to begin using the tablets given to the students efficiently.
