Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) has decided to launch operations to another destination of India to recover the losses caused due to halting of operations to China.
Managing Director Mohamed Rizvee stated the Maldivian airbus operations are widely based on destinations in China, adding suspending flights due to the novel coronavirus outbreak will inflict losses on the company. Rizvee said the company is working to find alternative methods to generate income by exploring other potential destinations.
Before the suspension of flights to China, Maldivian brought about 1,000 tourists every week from 4 Chinese cities.
