Maldives has won the Best Stand Decoration award at Business and Luxury Travel Mart (BLTM).
BLTM is India's leading trade show on business meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions and luxury travel. The fair is considered to be India's premier travel trade exhibition and was held from January 31 to February 1 at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel in New Delhi.
The 54 square metre stand of Maldives represented various scenes and experiences one can have in the country. The LED screen at the stand also showcased videos that depicted the beauty of the destination.
The most beautiful stand was also awarded to the Maldives stand at the Bride Dubai 2020 fair which was held from February 5 to 8. It is the first fair in the Middle East in 2020 and the first bridal fair which Maldives has taken part in.
Bride Dubai was used a platform to promote Maldives as the most desirable wedding destination among honeymooners and couples. Maldives was showcased at a 60 square metre stand designed to represent the unique honeymoon and wedding experiences available in the country. The stand included a photo booth, where visitors were able to take pictures alongside stunning images from Maldives.
Figures from 2019 showed India was the second top markets for Maldives with 166,000 arrivals and a growth of 83.5% compared to 2018. Meanwhile the Middle East also shows potential of growth with 60,000 tourist arrivals in 2019, which is an increase of 15.1% when compared to 2018.
