Housing Ministry requests award letters from flat recipients of Veshi Fahi Project

Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has called on the individuals who have not yet been handed over the flats and lands under the Veshi Fahi Male' Project to submit their letters of award.

According to an announcement from the ministry, people who have not yet been handed over the flats from Arabiyyaa and Gaakoshi flat buildings after receiving the award letter, and people who left land plots in Male' City for land plots in Hulhumale' but have not yet received the land plots are to submit their letters of award to the ministry.

The letters must be submitted along with their identity card copy. Those who decided to leave land plots from Male' City for a space from Hulhumale' are also required to submit a copy of their land registry. Individuals who have not yet been handed over the flats and land plots have been instructed to submit the letters of award by March 22, 2020.

Veshi Fahi Male' Project was launched during the administration of former President Mohamed Nasheed in 2010 to solve the housing problems faced by the residents of Male' City. The programme opened opportunity to submit applications for 3 categories. While one category was open for people from Male' City who lacked proper housing, the other two were open for people who had migrated to Male' City, and people who have registered in Male' Municipality by June 30, 2011 respectively.

While some people have been provided with the flats and land plots, the project was later conducted by Housing Development Corporation (HDC) during former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom's administration.
