Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated the Maldivian who had been placed under quarantine after visiting Italy has been released after he tested negative for COVID-19.
While HPA announced the release of the individual who had travelled to Italy, the agency reported another Maldivian is being quarantined after showing symptoms of COVID-19. The agency revealed the individual is being closely monitored.
Publicising the latest information regarding COVID-19, HPA confirmed the individual who tested positive for the virus in Chile had previously entered Maldives. The agency stated it is currently working to identify the individual and where he had stayed and visited while he was in Maldives. HPA stated anyone who might have come in contact with the individual will be closely monitored to check for any symptoms.
As part of the efforts of the administration to prevent an outbreak of COVID-19 in Maldives, screening facilities have been established in all international airports and seaports in the country.
