Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed 2 more individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives.
According to HPA, samples taken from two foreign nationals from Kuramathi Maldives were tested positive for the virus. Following the results, HPA has imposed temporary restrictive measures as contact tracing continues in the resort. HPA added the situation of Kuramathi Maldives is being closely monitored.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Maldives has now risen to 8. All positive cases are foreigners. Meanwhile, 80 samples have been taken in Maldives to test for COVID-19, with 71 of them testing negative. The results of six samples are currently pending.
Two of the individuals who tested positive had been brought to the quarantine facility in Dharumavantha Hospital for further treatment and monitoring. However, HPA says the conditions of all eight individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 are gradually improving.
