The government of Maldives has assured the situation of resorts with COVID-19 positive cases are being closely monitored.
Speaking to media at the daily press briefing, spokesperson of National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC), Under Secretary at President's Office Mohamed Mabrouq Azeez, stated the government understands the concerns of resort islands. He assured the situation of these resorts are being closely monitored.
Furthermore, the spokesperson revealed risk assessment is being done in Kuredu Island Resort, Sandies Bathala Resort and Kuramathi Maldives, adding doctors are deployed to the islands.
While 4 COVID-19 cases were found in Kuredu Island Resort, 99 individuals were isolated after contact tracing. Another 2 COVID-19 cases were found in Sandies Bathala Resort and 20 individuals were isolated after contact tracing. All individuals who were infected with COVID-19 in Maldives are foreigners.
