Maldives has brought additional COVID-19 test kits.
Speaking to the media, Spokesperson of National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) Mohamed Mabrouq Azeez said an additional 5,000 kits required to test for COVID-19 have been brought to Maldives. With the confirmatory 1,000 kits given by World Health Organisation (WHO), the total number of kits brought to Maldives amount to 6,000, noted Mabrouq. He said test kits are used to determine whether patients have COVID-19, while the confirmatory kits will be used to confirm virus detection in patients.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Health revealed arrangements to conduct COVID-19 tests permanently have been made at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). The result of the tests is received within 12-24 hours.
Stringent measures are in place to contain the virus in Maldives.
