Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a Maldivian who returned to Maldives from Spain is being kept in Farukolhufushi. A Maldivian is kept in isolation to conduct further tests as the individual showed COVID-19 like symptoms, according to HPA.
Amid rising cases of COVID-19 in Spain, Maldives has banned travels from Spain. However, the ban is not imposed on locals and Spanish nationals married to locals. HPA noted guidelines and steps will be followed when granting permission to enter the country which includes quarantining and isolation if COVID-19 symptoms are identified.
Some 47 million Spaniards must stay at home in an attempt to contain an outbreak which has seen 1,500 new cases in the past 24 hours. Spain has the fifth-highest number of cases in the world, behind China, Italy, Iran and South Korea.
