Supreme Court of Maldives has canceled all the hearings scheduled from March 19-26 a precautionary measure against COVID-19 pandemic.
The Supreme Court revealed all hearings scheduled from March 19-26 have been cancelled upon discussions and advisory of relevant authorities, adding the hearings will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court issued a circular on how the judiciary should function during the State of Public Health Emergency. In this regard, all courts were advised to send only electronic notices and asked to minimise court visits unless necessary. The apex court also advised maintaining social distancing if a visit is required at a judicial institution.
