Ministry of Education has decided to temporarily halt online teaching programmes and teleclass services. The ministry said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
In a circular, the education ministry highlighted some activities the parents can do while their children are staying home in this situation. The ministry appealed to help children in minimising the screen time and to organise some activities to be active and healthy. The ministry advised to participate children in household chores and to give importance to their mental and physical health.
Maldives has closed all government offices, institutions, parliament and the courts from March 19-26. Earlier, the government has also closed all schools and tuition classes at least until March 28.
