Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has stated there are no changes in importing food shipments amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking in a video conference, Director General of MPL Shahid Ali said the percentage of goods imported this month increased by 18-20% annually. However, Shahid stated there was no growth in the percentage of imported goods so far this month due to the travel bans placed on resorts. He also stated there were no changes in the shipments of food items and medicines imported to Maldives this month.
Shahid added MPL is allocating a special workforce to provide port services in the time of State of Public Health Emergency declared in the country.
