Two patients from the 13 foreigners who tested positive for COVID-19 have fully recovered, according to the government of Maldives.
Speaking at the press briefing held at National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen said while 13 patients are being treated for COVID-19, two patients have been fully recovered. The health minister appealed to follow the orders and instructions of relevant authorities to overcome this delicate situation. Noting the government has full faith the situation can be overcome with the efforts, the minister reiterated utmost priority is protecting the citizens from the virus. Efforts will be exerted to contain the virus, reassured the minister.
The doctors revealed the two patients were tested twice and the results came double negative as per the standards of the World Health Organisation (WHO). The doctor’s team is working to discharge the two patients in the coming week. The recovery of the two patients reduces the positive COVID-19 cases in Maldives to 11.
Since the detection of COVID-19 in Maldives, the government has diligently worked to contain the virus.
