Spokesperson of National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has stated COVID-19 patients who fully recover will be discharged after the 30-day quarantine period.
Speaking in a press conference, the spokesperson said patients fully recovering from COVID-19 is a respite since the start of the operations and the preparations to contain the virus in Maldives. Mabrook said the recovery of the most critical patient is a remarkable success for the Maldivian team of doctors. Noting patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 are stable, he appreciated the work of the team of doctors and health professionals for their continued time and services during a demanding and difficult time.
All 13 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives, including the 3 who have recovered, are foreign nationals. The 3 individuals who recovered from COVID-19 include 2 tourists from Sandies Bathala Maldives and 1 tourist from Kuredu Island Resort and Spa.
